Wigan will be without Shaun Ainscough for the remainder of the season after the winger suffered scaphoid wrist damage.
The 19-year-old made a hugely impressive start to life at the DW Stadium as he scored 11 tries in 13 games, but he will play no further part in the current campaign.
It is a big blow for Wigan as they are also without Phil Bailey, who suffered Achilles damage against Warrington at the weekend.
Prop Eamon O'Carroll, who has been out since March with a broken bone in his foot, is hoping to be back to bolster numbers but he admits time is against him.
"I've not been told if I will be back this year or not," he said in the Wigan Evening Post.
"Because of the nature of it, it can't be rushed so I've just go to see how it goes.
"Realistically, I'd need a few games for the reserves before I could get back into the first team and it's a matter of whether I'll get back in time or not.
"Don't get me wrong, I would love to play again this year but it's about being smart - I don't want to come back too soon, suffer a set-back and have to do rehab in pre-season.
"I want to be fully fit to rip in when pre-season starts."
