Second-rower Lee Mossop has pledged his future to Wigan by signing a new five-year contract.
The 21-year-old, who came through the club's youth system, has appeared in seven of the Warriors' eight games so far in 2010.
Mossop, who spent spells on loan at Barrow and Huddersfield last season, made his first-team debut for the Cherry and Whites back in 2008.
He wasn't due to be out of contract until the end of next year, but he will now be staying at the DW Stadium until the end of the 2014 campaign.
"I am thrilled to commit my long-term future to Wigan," he said. "I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Club since joining some six years ago and it was always my hope to work hard and earn another Contract with them.
"There have been some rumours linking me with a move to the NRL but this was never my intention at this stage of my career.
"The Wigan club is heading in a great direction under Michael and his staff and it is my aim to do all I can to help Wigan's success and to earn some silverware in the years to come."
Wigan coach Michael Maguire admits he has been impressed by Mossop, who he has mostly used off the bench, since taking charge of the Warriors.
"Lee has worked very hard since my arrival and he has impressed me with his attitude and commitment," he said.
"He has made a great start for us to the new Season and he has a wonderful future ahead in the game."
