The Australian prop marked his debut for the Wildcats by seeing red after just 20 minutes following a clash with Rhinos forward Ryan Bailey.
Referee Jamie Leahy also brandished yellow cards to Bailey, Leeds new boy Mitch Achurch and Wakefield's Ben Cockayne for their part in the fracas that followed.
The official wasn't finished there, however, as hooker Paul McShane, making his Leeds return following a loan spell with Widnes, became the fourth player to be sent to the bin for a high tackle in the second half.
In the end the visitors, fielding a near full-strength team for the annual festive fixture, paid the price for having to play an hour with only 12 men.
The two sides had been locked together at 16 apiece at the break, Australian trialist Joe Vickery bagging a brace of tries for the hosts to boost his hopes of earning a permanent contract.
A pair of tries in the space of three minutes from Danny Kirmond and Reece Lyne put Wakefield 12-6 ahead before Poore, who had already conceded three penalties during his time on the new £1million pitch, was sent off.
Cockayne marked his return to the field by levelling matters just before half time, but Leeds edged back in front four minutes into the second period when Danny McGuire's pass put winger Jimmy Watson over.
McGuire - one of three members of the Rhinos' Grand Final-winning team in action - also had a hand in scores for winger Jamel Chisholm, Alex Foster and Joel Moon, who impressed on his first appearance since arriving from Salford.
Centre Dean Collis and former Leeds full-back Richard Mathers added further tries for the Wildcats, only for Leeds to have the final say when prop Brad Singleton went over for his second try of the match.
