Veteran prop Morley is looking forward to representing his home-town club after a decorated career that has included stints with Leeds, Sydney Roosters, Bradford and Warrington.
With the financial backing provided by owner Dr Marwan Koukash, the Red Devils - who finished bottom last year - have re-shaped their squad for the 2014 campaign with 14 signings.
"Pre-season has been going really well," Morley told Sky Sports at the season launch in Manchester.
"It's virtually a new club so it's important we get some hard work done in training and get the combinations going.
"On paper it's a fantastic squad, one of the better squads in Super League - but it's if we can click and gel together.
"I'm confident we're going to be competitive and hopefully we will be up there.
"There is a bit of pressure but pressure's good. It brings out the best in myself and the team."
Salford open their season at home to Wakefield Wildcats on February 16, a fixture Morley is relishing.
He said: "It's been a dream of mine (to play for Salford) since I can remember. I've been a big Salford fan for years and years, so to get the opportunity to finish my career here is fantastic. It's really exciting times."
