Salford Red Devils’ long-term future looks a little rosier after young trio Jordan Walne, Adam Walne and Greg Johnson all signed new three-year contracts.
Second row Jordan Walne joined Salford on a scholarship aged 13 and had a two-year spell with Wigan before returning to the Greater Manchester club.
Brother Adam joined from the Leyland amateur club near Preston and despite enduring a couple of injury-hit seasons is now starting to fulfil his potential.
Our coaching staff have seen enough this season to believe that these three young players have what it takes to become part of our core for the future.
Johnson joined the Red Devils from Batley Bulldogs and the former Wakefield Wildcats man has enjoyed a promising debut campaign at the club - scoring six times in Super League.
CEO Martin Vickers believes the long-term deals is just reward for the trio's excellent progress while it also signals the club's ambition to help develop stars of the future.
“The three players who we have signed these contracts have all shown the effort and commitment required to make a difference at Salford. This club is now in a position to retain its best young talent and beyond that develop it to maximise its potential,” Vickers told the club’s official website.
“Our coaching staff have seen enough this season to believe that these three young players have what it takes to become part of our core for the future. We are currently talking to some of our other young stars and hope to conclude further deals shortly.
“We will continue to sign the best talent available, only now we will be mixing them with an impressive group of youngsters, hungry for success here.
“We will continue to secure the best young talent for the Red Devils and that can only lead to an exciting future for our supporters.”
