Mark Offerdahl has agreed a one-year contract with Bradford Bulls to become head coach James Lowes’ fifth new addition for 2015.

The 26-year-old forward, who stared for the USA Tomahawks in last year’s World Cup, has spent the season with Kingstone Press Championship side North Wales Crusaders.

It was thought the Queenslander had agreed a move to St George Illawarra Dragons, however, the lure of the Bulls has proved too hard to resist.

“As soon as the chance to play for such a big club came up, I jumped at it and had very little hesitation in doing so,” he told the club’s official website.

“I am certainly looking forward to the challenge at hand. I cannot wait to get back over to the UK and get everything underway.

“The plan is to force my way into the team and play big minutes, while making an impact.

Good things

“I spoke to a few of the boys I know over there and they had nothing but good things to say about the Bulls and the direction the club is going in.

“I want to take my performance to another level with Bradford and really make my presence known.

“For me, the sky is the limit and the chance of making it back into Super League - with the Bulls - is one I am relishing.”

Lowes believes Offerdahl can provide his pack with “another dimension”.

“Mark will add a lot of power, size and energy to our front line next year,” added Lowes. “He is a player who has really impressed me and I am pleased with the homework we have done on him.”

Offerdahl's signing is subject to his visa application being approved.
