Super League rivals Castleford Tigers and Wakefield Wildcats have agreed to swap hookers Paul McShane and Scott Moore.

The exchange comes into place with immediate effect, ahead of Friday's transfer deadline, with former Leeds player McShane signing a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Tigers and Moore moving on loan to Belle Vue.

Castleford coach Daryl Powell said: "I'm delighted to welcome Paul to the Tigers at a crucial time during the season. Having signed him for the next two years it was ideal when we got the chance to sign him early."

Powell added: "Scott wanted the chance to play every week and Wakefield will give him that opportunity, and we wish him all the best for the remainder of the season."

McShane, who joined Wakefield from Leeds Rhinos in 2013, is excited to get straight down to training and meet his new team mates tomorrow.

“I’m really excited to join the Tigers and have the chance to help the club push towards a playoff spot in the Super League Super 8s. I can’t wait to get started and meet everyone at the club,” McShane said.

“The atmosphere at the Jungle is immense and I can’t wait to pull on the Cas jersey and get on that pitch."
