Salford owner Marwan Koukash insists the club are in no rush to make any decision over the future of absent head coach Iestyn Harris.

Harris has not taken charge of a Red Devils match since the club reported he was ill almost six weeks ago.

Salford assistant coach Ian Watson has taken over team affairs in the meantime with Australia coach Tim Sheens having been appointed director of rugby.

There have been reports the Red Devils are planning to discuss a severance deal with Harris but Koukash says the former dual-code Wales international officially remains in position.

"There's no timescale. We could wait until the end of the season,” Koukash told BBC Radio Manchester.

"We are in no rush to make that decision public and it's not for public consumption.

"We'll just wait and discuss it with Iestyn when he and us are ready and we'll move forward."
