James Batchelor has signed a new five-year deal at Wakefield Trinity.
The back-row forward joined Wakefield 18 months ago and made his Super League debut last season in the 38-10 home defeat to Warrington Wolves.
Batchelor has featured for England at academy level and played in a 52-20 victory over France in May.
“Very happy to re-sign at the club, time to keep working hard and see where we can go,” the 18-year-old tweeted from his official Twitter account.
Wakefield chairman Michael Carter added: "I'm absolutely delighted. It's exceptional news for this club that one of our young players has decided to commit his future to the club.
"He doesn't look out of place in Super League, he's played for England academy and I think he can be a top, top player. He's got it all and certainly excites me."
