Veteran Australian undecided on next career move

Hull FC utility back Ryan McGoldrick remains undecided whether he will continue playing rugby league next season. The Australian is on a short-term deal with the Black and Whites after calling time on his seven-year stay with the Castleford Tigers. The 31-year-old feels he can continue playing next term, options that include returning home or playing rugby union. McGoldrick scored in Monday's win over rivals Hull KR and he insists money will not dictate his next career move.

Unconcerned

"I'm not too concerned about next year because I haven't really made up my mind about what I want to do yet," said McGoldrick. "I could go back home or there's some rugby union offers from here and in France and then there's also the possibility of retirement. "I've played for a long time now and I still feel I can carry on, but I need to work out if I want to. Hopefully this move will help me do that. "Obviously money is important but I'm in a fortunate position in that regard. Money won't be the driving factor behind what I do and I'm lucky to be able to say that. "If it comes to retirement then I'm fairly comfortable with that option. I haven't spoken to Hull yet but I'm really enjoying my time here. If I hear from them then I'll have a decision to make."
