The Halifax-born man returns to West Yorkshire a Melbourne player, and knows full well the challenge his current side face, but insists it is one they are ready for.
He said: "Look, we haven't come all this way to take it easy. It's a massive game and we want to be crowned World Champions, that is what we're here to do.
"They're a great side and the atmosphere is going to be electric on Friday night, but we have trained really well and are looking forward to it now."
The two sides last met in the World Club Challenge in 2010, where Melbourne inflicted an 18-10 defeat on the Super League champions, a game in which the 23-year-old missed out.
The versatile runner has become a mainstay in the Storm side - only missing one of 27 matches last season - and cannot wait to play at Headingley.
He said: "Unfortunately I missed out in 2010 but I have had a good 2, 3 solid years now in the NRL and I'm better for that, and really looking forward to Friday night.
"It's a massive game and we all enjoy coming over and playing in these big games. All my friends and family are going to come down this afternoon, back to where it all started for me which is a real privilege."
