The 29-year-old scrum-half was not selected by Steve McNamara for England's 10-day training camp in South Africa ahead of the internationals against France and Wales.
Brough would have been fit to play after recovering from a groin injury and Anderson knows the former Castleford and Wakefield man wanted to be involved.
However, Anderson believes Brough's omission for the Series will be of benefit as the experienced playmaker will enjoy a full break ahead of next season's Super League.
"We're all hugely disappointed for Broughy," Anderson told the Huddersfield Daily Examiner.
"You can see he gives everything to everything he does, so not being part of this autumn's England squad is bound to hit him really hard.
"The key now is for him to harness the frustration he feels at being left out and get the best out of him for the Giants.
"If that's the case, then we know what a massive benefit that will be to the club."
