The back-rower was named in Steve McNamara's 20-man pool for the International Origin match against the Exiles, a team made up of overseas players competing in Super League, at Warrington on Friday week.
Ferres was not in McNamara's 30-man elite training squad but gained his place after some superb displays for the Giants, who are second in Super League and in the last eight of the Challenge Cup.
And the 27-year-old was quick to hail the contribution of fellow Giants Danny Brough, Joe Wardle, Leroy Cudjoe and Eorl Crabtree.
"I've just tried to stay consistent in my game and this is the reward for that," said Ferres.
"The Giants have helped me massively by winning quite a lot of games and sitting near the top of the table.
"Obviously we've got a cracking squad here at Huddersfield and I've got fantastic players around me.
"Danny Brough has been making life quite easy on the inside of me and I've got Joe Wardle on the outside so it's very easy to play around quality players.
"Leroy and Eorl are already in the mix and they've been playing fantastically well. There's probably a few more that could be thereabouts."
