Blues legend Brad Fittler has been chosen as the new coach of New South Wales for the next two State of Origin series.
Fittler, the head coach of representative team NSW City, was picked after Laurie Daley was not reappointed earlier this year.
The Blues' most-capped player and a former captain, Fittler has won seven Origin series with the NSW team.
"Brad's qualifications for the role are impeccable and his standing within the game is pre-eminent," said NSWRL chairman George Peponis.
"His recent efforts in the Rugby League World Cup with Lebanon serve as a reminder of his talents as a coach and they provide a window into the exciting future which he will bring the New South Wales State of Origin team."
Queensland have dominated Origin in recent years, winning 11 of the last 12 series.
Daley coached the Blues since 2013 and had one series win in 2014.
