Catalans Dragons have agreed to release skipper Casty at the end of the season to enable him to link up with former coach Trent Robinson, who moved to the Roosters at the end of last year.
The 28-year-old, has made 155 appearances in Super League since making his debut for the Dragons in 2006 and was named in the 2012 Dream Team.
"It's my career achievement," Casty said. "It's something I've always wanted to do since I started playing rugby.
"I've spent eight wonderful seasons at the Catalans Dragons, I'm very proud to have worn this jersey and I really want to thank the club to allow me to take this opportunity."
And Catalan chairman Bernard Guasch insists the player leaves with the best wishes of the French club.
Guasch said: "It's obviously a big loss for our club, but it's a great opportunity for Remi to play alongside the best players in the world.
"I was aware of the negotiations from the beginning. We have always worked seamlessly with Remi.
"He told us he will come back at the club after his NRL experience. He is a great leader, he will come back stronger and will share his experience with the young forwards coming through at the club."
