Katy McLean receives a red card for this tackle in England's Six Nations clash with Italy.

Katy McLean has been banned for three weeks after being found guilty of making a dangerous tackle during England's match against Italy at Twickenham last weekend.

The 31-year-old fly-half was red carded on Saturday and, after viewing the footage, the disciplinary committee decided a three-week suspension was sufficient.

The committee, chaired by Roger Morris, heard submissions from the player and her representatives, and categorised the offence as mid-range which carries a six-week entry point in the World Rugby's sanction table.

However, the three-person committee felt there were no aggravating factors and the player had met all mitigating factors permitted. Therefore, they decided to reduce the entry point by three weeks.

As there are no fixtures scheduled this weekend, the player is suspended until mid-night on Sunday, March 26.
