“Gaston is starting to develop into a very good tighthead prop. He has worked hard on the fitness and technical elements of his game and is showing improvement every time he takes the field.

Potential

“Jack has all the physical attributes to be a good player – he’s strong, fit and is incredibly versatile.

“It’s important for Jack to make a position his own – he has the potential and now he has to work hard to establish himself in the first team.”

Townson has played 65 times since arriving at the club in 2011 having previously had spells at Newcastle, Sale and Doncaster.

“Glen has shown a great level of consistency throughout the campaign – he works hard and is always looking at ways that he can improve his performances,” added Robinson.

“We’re pleased that Glen has committed for a further two years. He has bought into the vision of what we want to achieve and is a really positive influence around the training ground.”
