Gloucester centre Henry Trinder has agreed a new deal to remain with the Cherry and Whites beyond the end of the current season.

The 26-year-old is closing in on a century of appearances for the club after making his debut in February 2008, but has played just four times this season after suffering a hamstring injury.

Trinder, who is now close to full fitness, has represented his country at U20 and Saxons level, and played for England in a non-cap international against the Barbarians.

He said: "This is my club, and I am thrilled to have put pen to paper on a new deal. It's no secret the injuries I've suffered have been frustrating, but it only makes me more determined to succeed in a Cherry and White shirt.

"When I returned to action against Zebre back in November, the reception I received will live long in my memory, and the support I've had from everyone has been awesome.

"The medical staff have put in a lot of time with me, I now want to repay them with some good performances on the pitch, and be involved again with this exciting group of players at the club and be part of what we're working towards."

Henry is a truly exciting player... and I'm delighted he will be a part of Gloucester's squad going forward.

"I know that some of the players in a similar position have taken a lot of inspiration from Henry's approach to his rehab. He is a truly exciting player whose talents I was well aware of, even before I arrived at Kingsholm, and I'm delighted that he will be a part of our squad going forward.

"We are building a lot of depth within our squad, and Henry is another key cog in our back line as we develop our game and another key re-signing ahead of next season."
