The All Blacks' record try-scorer Doug Howlett has been penalised by the New Zealand Rugby Union for damaging two cars in London while drunk. Howlett, who will join Munster on a two-and-a-half-year deal from January, was found guilty at a misconduct hearing in Wellington - although the extent of the punishment has not been revealed by the NZRU. The 29-year-old had already publicly apologised after he was arrested and released on October 9 for jumping on two vehicles at the Hilton Hotel at Heathrow Airport. And the NZRU also took into account the costs paid by Howlett following the incident and his previously unblemished career with the All Blacks. All Blacks manager Darren Shand said: "Doug faced intense public scrutiny over his behaviour and has faced up to his actions and made reparations."
