Scotland will take on Wales in Cardiff without Rory Lamont after the star full-back damaged his ankle and shoulder.

Sale full-back to miss Wales showdown

Scotland will take on Wales in Cardiff on Saturday without star full-back Rory Lamont. The 25-year-old Sale star was carried off in the second half of Scotland's 27-6 defeat to France at Murrayfield. And following assessments from the Scottish medical team, he will now miss the clash with Wales - while several other players were being monitored. Scotland team doctor James Robson said: "Rory has damaged his left shoulder and left ankle. "He will require further assessment but will be unavailable for selection for this week's game in Cardiff." Lamont's absence is likely to mean a return to the Scotland starting XV for Chris Paterson.
