Bortolami recalled by Italy

Marco Bortolami will return to the Italy squad for the RBS Six Nations trip to Wales in Cardiff on February 23.

Last Updated: 13/02/08 10:20pm

Marco Bortolami will return to the Italy squad for the RBS Six Nations trip to Wales in Cardiff on February 23.

The Gloucester lock, who was replaced by Sergio Parisse as the Azzurri skipper, missed the narrow defeats to Ireland and England after fracturing an eye socket.

However, Bortolami is back to full fitness and has been given the nod ahead for Tommaso Reato in Nick Mallett's 24-man squad.

Montpellier full back David Bortolussi looks set to be replaced in the squad meanwhile, after having reportedly fractured his shoulder in training on Monday.

Calvisano's Paolo Buso looks favourite to take Bortolussi's place if the injury proves serious, and the Montpellier star could now be doubtful for the rest of the tournament.
