Leicester lock Marco Wentzel has agreed a two-year deal to join promotion favourites Leeds Carnegie.
The 29-year-old South African, capped by the Springboks against Scotland and France in 2002, joined the Tigers from Italian club Benetton Treviso in 2007.
He went on to appear in last season's Guinness Premiership final against Wasps at Twickenham and impressed former Leicester star Neil Back in the process.
Now head coach of the National League One leaders, Back is delighted to have secured his new addition to the pack.
"His signing is a signal of our ambition and intent at Leeds Carnegie," Back said.
"The fact we have been able to attract someone who has as much experience of playing Premiership, Heineken Cup and international rugby as Marco demonstrates that he recognises that ambition and is aware of the environment that is being created at Leeds Carnegie.
"Hopefully, he will be the first of many to follow."
