Myler to start at stand-off for Saxons

Danny Cipriani has been named on the bench for England Saxons' final Churchill Cup Pool B match against the United States on Sunday. Saxons head coach Stuart Lancaster has opted to look at the depth in his squad, meaning Cipriani drops out and Stephen Myler steps in at fly-half. Brad Barritt and Micky Young will join Myler in making their first starts for the Saxons. Stuart Hooper, who captained the side to a 28-20 victory over Argentina Jaguars last Saturday, is replaced by Nick Kennedy in the second row, so Phil Dowson takes over as skipper. "While we are here to win this tournament it also comes as an opportunity to develop players and see how well they get on in the international environment," Lancaster said. "We are looking forward to seeing how this squad performs. "There are positives to take from our performance against Argentina but there is also plenty to work on and the players have responded well this week. "We have quality players in this side and we are expecting an improved performance this Sunday. The USA will have a highly charged and competitive side and they are playing at home so they are ready to give it their all against us."
