Julien Dupuy and David Attoub of Stade Francais have been cited for suspected eye-gouging during Saturday's Heineken Cup clash with Ulster.
The pair have been singled out for incidents that are said to have occurred at the same second-half ruck during Ulster's 23-13 victory at Ravenhill.
Television footage appears to show scrum-half Dupuy making contact around Stephen Ferris' eye twice leaving the flanker requiring treatment on the field
Attoub's alleged action moments later was captured by a photographer.
After the game Ferris said his eyes had been 'tugged at' and he had felt 'numerous fingers' in his eye.
"My eyes were streaming. I was furious," he said. "I would hate to get anyone cited and if someone hit me a dig in the jaw I would take it and get on with the game. But not when someone goes for your eyes.
"A bit of it is still in the French game and it needs to be cut out. If this gets sorted out it might be better for the game."
If found guilty, Dupuy and Attoub can each expect a minimum three month suspension from The International Rugby Board, who have launched a crackdown on gouging.
