Strokosch and Lamont out of Six Nations opener

Scotland duo Alasdair Strokosch and Rory Lamont have been ruled out of Sunday's RBS Six Nations opener against France. Flanker Strokosch has returned to Gloucester for further treatment on the ankle injury he sustained playing for them last month. Toulon full-back Lamont only recently returned from injury but he requires rehabilitation on an ankle problem of his own. The loss of Strokosch will be a particular blow, with the 26-year-old appointed head coach Andy Robinson's pack leader during the autumn internationals. Robinson will name his team for Sunday's game with France at midday on Tuesday.
