France have suffered a triple blow ahead of their RBS Six Nations clash with Ireland after Aurelien Rougerie, Benjamin Fall and Luc Ducalcon all failed fitness tests.
The trio were initially included in Marc Lievremont's squad for Saturday's match in Paris despite having picked up injuries in the win over Scotland.
However, all three have now been ruled out after extensive assessments from the French medical team.
Rougerie looks likely to be out of action for around three weeks and has been replaced by 22-year-old Brive winger Alexis Palisson.
Meanwhile, prop Ducalcon will be replaced in the front row by 30-year-old Toulouse prop Jean-Baptiste Poux who comes into the squad for the first time in two years.
There appeared to be better news about Fall, who was initially pronounced fit on Tuesday, but the Bayonne wing has now been replaced by Clermont's Julien Malzieu for the clash in Paris against the Grand Slam champions.
