Leeds Carnegie have continued their rebuilding process for a second season back in the Guinness Premiership by agreeing new deals with Lee Blackett and Jon Pendlebury.
Having secured their safety with a 12-10 victory over Worcester last time out, Leeds have secured an additional £1million in funding.
And they have moved to tie Blackett to a two-year deal and Pendlebury to a 12-month contract.
Blackett, who joined Leeds from Rotherham in 2006, believes the club can now kick on and look forward to a bright future.
"It would have been a very hard decision to leave after such a great year and I am delighted that we have been able to agree a new two-year deal," he said.
"This is a special place and the club is really going places in the future. I have been here for the previous two seasons in the Premiership when we ended up getting relegated and this group of players is the best group I have been part of.
"Two years ago we were not good enough to stay in the Premiership but the club have invested both on and off the field and now we have a great team spirit and squad who all play for each other.
"Now we are on an equal footing with the rest of the Premiership we can go forward with confidence."
