Back-row to switch to hooking this season

Plymouth Albion chairman of rugby Graham Dawe has turned to Gareth Evans to fill-in at hooker this season. Albion saw both Joe Clark and James Owen leave the club in the summer, leaving Dawe short of options for the No.2 jersey. Dawe, though, has convinced back-row Evans to take up the mantle for the coming campaign - with the 28-year-old having filled in as an emergency prop and hooker in the past. "Gareth is going to concentrate on playing number two," Dawe told The Herald. "Gareth has certainly got the physical attributes to play there. He has got some good aspects of his game. "Technically he is working hard at his game. He has got to master the mental side of playing in that position, but he is prepared to stick with it."
