France's Alexis Palisson is looking to end his miserable run against Australia when he faces them for the fourth time in 12 Tests on Saturday.
Palisson will line up on the left wing at the Stade de France rather than his more usual position of full-back to allow Yann Porical to wear the number 15 jersey.
But the 22-year-old, who has yet to taste victory over the Wallabies, believes he will still get the opportunity to launch his trademark counter-attacks from out wide.
"Australia, is my bete noire," admitted Palisson. "I have lost to them three times. They are a very good team who continue to deploy interesting tactics."
On his positional switch, he added: "I take as much pleasure from both positions even if I may be more at liberty to launch attacks from the full-back role.
"But there again, as one saw against Argentina (last Saturday), I only had two counter-attacks."
Palisson was thrust into the spotlight two years ago when he made his Test debut on France's tour of Australia.
He had played only a handful of Top 14 games for Brive at that point but nevertheless impressed, albeit in a soundly beaten team.
"I wasn't expecting all that I must say," he confessed. "I had made five or six Top 14 starts and baboom, I found myself in the French team.
"Everything was new to me and notably with regard to the media attention."
Palisson also toured the southern hemisphere in 2009 but was the only member of Marc Lievremont's squad not to feature in any of the three Tests with Australia and New Zealand.
He returned to favour during last year's RBS Six Nations, helping France to their first Grand Slam since 2004.
"That was difficult but I am not someone who is going to stamp his feet to get time on the pitch," he said.
"It was not necessary for someone to come and see me and tell me to get back to work.
"I did not part from the touring party annoyed but rather with a lust to taste more of it: for when one touches the highest level, and you stroke it but you do not actually get to play a role in it, it gave me a real desire to go that one step higher."
