The 22-year-old quickly became an integral part of the Wales set-up after winning the first of his 24 caps against the Barbarians in 2011.
And Faletau was one of the stars for Wales in the march to the World Cup semi-finals, in which he made every one of his 75 attempted tackles, as well as featuring in their 2012 Grand Slam success.
But as he prepares for Saturday's Six Nations trip to Murrayfield to play Scotland, Faletau is looking to improve his own game.
"I wouldn't say that I am playing well - I'd give myself a five out of 10 for the championship so far," Faletau said.
"I am just hanging in there and taking each game as it comes. I think there is plenty of room for improvement in my game. I just have to keep working hard on all parts of my game.
"My stats are good but that's nothing big. I don't really bother with them too much; they are not always a fair reflection of how things are going."
