Fijian rugby star Rupeni Caucaunibuca is making a return to the European game after re-signing with former club Agen in France.
The mercurial winger is rejoining the Pro D2 side – where he scored 65 tries in 108 games – after passing all of the club’s physical tests.
The 34-year-old, who was once one of the most feared attacking players in world rugby, is confident he has enough left in the tank to be a factor for Agen.
"I wanted to return to Agen in France because it's my club, the club of my heart with who I want to pull off one last challenge," Caucaunibuca said.
"I do not fear competition. The team plays very well and I want to show that a 34-year-old can still do beautiful things. I'll try to bring my experience.”
Caucaunibuca, who has also played for Toulouse and Auckland Blues during an illustrious career, last appeared for Northland in last year’s ITM cup in New Zealand.
