New Zealand head coach Steve Hansen has warned England to expect a more formidable performance from his side in their second Test in Dunedin on Saturday.
Despite clinching a 20-15 victory in the first game at Eden Park, the All Blacks were criticised for an unfamiliar error-ridden game.
Hansen says his squad have identified their shortcomings and put them right in training this week, and so Stuart Lancaster can expect his tourists to face a daunting task to level the series.
“There are not too many times that New Zealand teams play poorly and then don't respond in some fashion," Hansen said.
"If we dropped those who played poorly in that first Test, we wouldn't have anyone on the park. That's how bad it was.The guys are very disappointed with themselves.
"They're very proud people who want to play a quality game that we can all be proud of. Last week we weren't proud of our performance.
"But we know some of the reasons why. Our skill-sets were very poor, probably the poorest they've ever been, but this week we've trained well.
"We haven't panicked. We've just gone about looking at our game in an honest fashion. We shouldn't lose sight of the fact we did manage to win the Test."
England boss Lancaster has made five changes to his starting line-up, with Luther Burrell and Billy Twelvetrees reunited in the midfield, Manu Tuilagi moving to the wing, and Owen Farrell and Danny Care starting as the half-backs.
But Hansen still believes his side will have too much for England at the Forsyth Barr Stadium.
He said: "There's a lot more intensity and purpose about what we've done this week.
"As a coaching group and playing group we've got faith in what we're trying to do it's just a matter of getting it right on the night.
"We're really looking forward to Saturday because it's an opportunity that has come around really quickly to erase that poor performance.”
