Ben Gollings insists he is keeping his option open after he was released from the England Sevens set-up.
Gollings has been the heartbeat of the England Sevens side since making his debut in the 1999 IRB Sevens Series in Paris.
In 12 years, Gollings has gone on to become the all-time record points-scorer in Sevens with 2,652 in 70 tournaments and is the joint highest-capped player in the IRB Series.
The 31-year-old, who captained the side, was the top points-scorer in the HSBC Sevens World Series in 2009-10 with 332.
However, the Gollings failed to earn a new contract and is now likely to return to club rugby.
"I'm 31 and as fit as I've ever been so feel I have a few more years' rugby in me," he said.

"I haven't yet decided what path to follow next. I'll have some time out and assess my options in England and also abroad."
Although having been better known for his exploits in the shortened version of the game, Gollings has a wealth of 15-a-side experience.
He played in the Premiership for Harlequins, Newcastle Falcons and Worcester Warriors, before spells in New Zealand with Tasman, Japan with the Toyota Shokki and Australia with the Gold Coast Breakers. He also had a stint at Championship level with Doncaster.
And although his spell in international Sevens has come to an end, Gollings has backed the side to continue to develop,
"It was a bit of a shock not to be given a new contract and it will take a few months to get my head around no longer being part of the England Sevens squad, but I understand their decision to look to younger players to take them forward and I wish the team and the boys the best of luck and have every faith in them that they can win the 2013 Rugby Sevens World Cup in Moscow," he added.
