The lock will be partnered in the second-row by exile Adam Sinclair in a team which also includes three elite development players; Rory Hughes on the wing, scrum-half Sam Hidalgo-Clyne and Adam Ashe in the back-row.

The starting XV also sees seven players from the Scottish club game; Keith Buchan starts at full-back alongside club team-mate Damien Hoyland.

Chris Auld plays in the centres and Ruaridh Leishman starts in the back-row. Russell Anderson, D'Arcy Rae and Jamie Bhatti complete an all Scottish club front-row.

The line-up also includes two further exiles, with Mike Bennett partnering Auld and Will Bordill completing the back-row.

Phil Cringle, the only elite development player, takes his place on the bench alongside exiles Ali Price and Tommy Spinks.

Full-back Ruaridh Young will travel as the 24th man.

Head coach Sean Lineen said: "It's been a really exciting process working with a group of young players who are willing to learn and who want to do something special in this year's Six Nations and IRB Junior World Championship.

"Jonny Gray is an outstanding young man, who brings a lot of energy to this team. We've seen his older brother Richie at this level before and we know what he's gone on to do so far.

"Jonny is a real rugby man, who knows the game, he leads by example and he is well respected by both the players and coaches."
