Saints pulled off a stunning 27-13 victory over Saracens at Allianz Park, ending a run of six semi-final defeats.
They will now face their old East Midlands rivals at Twickenham on May 25.
Wood, who will captain England on their summer tour of Uruguay and Argentina this summer, says Northampton are confident of victory - despite being mauled 36-8 at home by the Tigers in March.
"It was about pulling tight, backs against the wall and come out fighting," said Wood. "It was a big step for us to get to the final and not fall short again.
"Leicester are comfortable in this environment and they have exposed us once already this season but hopefully we can shock them with our intensity.
"It is about our inner belief and that is what we pride ourselves on."
Flanker Calum Clark later tweeted: "Luckily, in this world, the opinion and views of the critics don't count. The views and opinions that count are those with their faces full of blood and sweat."
Some of that motivation will come from a desire to give departing props Brian Mujati and Soane Tonga'uiha a victorious farewell. Both players are moving to Racing Metro next season.
"We are trying to give those lads the best send off possible and what better way than an east midlands derby and hopefully a win at Twickenham," Wood said.
