Worcester prop Val Rapava Ruskin has been suspended for six weeks for pushing a match official in the back during last Friday's Premiership match against Newcastle Falcons.

The 24-year-old from Georgia pleaded guilty to the offence at Wednesday's disciplinary hearing in Bristol.

And because Worcester's domestic season finishes this weekend, he is not eligible to play a competitive match for the Warriors again until Monday, September 4.

The charge against Ruskin was for "acts contrary to good sportsmanship" after pushing referee Greg Garner with both hands during the first half at Kingston Park and was subsequently cited following the match.

A statement by the RFU disciplinary panel reads: "The panel heard from the player and after carefully considering all of the available evidence, found that this was at the lower end of seriousness for this type of offending.

"The panel imposed a sanction of six weeks which reflects the seriousness of making contact with a referee or any match official."
