Mark van Gisbergen has been tipped for England by Wasps coach Shaun Edwards.
Mark van Gisbergen should be in the England first XV, according to Wasps coach Shaun Edwards.
Speaking after Van Gisbergen helped the London side to a comfortable 47-23 victory at Leeds, Edwards took the opportunity to sing the praises of the full back.
"I'd be pretty happy to have him playing 15 in my (England) team," said Edwards.
"He's got plenty of talent and backs it up with his consistency."
Such consistency has seen Van Gisbergen retain a 100 per cent kicking record after three matches of the Guinness Premiership season, and Wasps boss Ian McGeechan added:
"He has the right temperament and such a simple kicking action."
Meanwhile, Leeds director Phil Davies was remaining optimistic despite seeing his side lose their third match in a row.
Davies has consistently alluded to his side's developing new approach to the game this season, and he once again asked for patience from the fans.
"We still have reasons to be optimistic, progress doesn't always go in a straight line, and although it might look like we're going backwards at the moment, we just need a win to get things going," maintained Davies.
"We are building our squad with a quality group of lads. I'm looking for us to be a top seven side on a consistent basis.
"We have some excellent Academy players, and young lads like Jordan Crane, who was excellent today, are also breaking into the side.
"When we get it right, I'm sure we will be further down the road than if we had kept things the same."
