Amorosino, Staunton and Duffey extend contracts

Leicester Tigers have been buoyed by news Lucas Amorosino, Jeremy Staunton and Joe Duffey have all agreed new deals. The trio all arrived at Welford Road in the summer, however they have been rewarded for some impressive displays with contract extensions. Argentina international Amorosino has scored four times in nine appearances, including the only try in the victory over South Africa, while fly-half Jeremy Staunton has weighed in with 156 points since arriving from Wasps. Hooker Duffey has made encouraging improvements since arriving from Nottingham, going on to make his Premiership debut in October and play in the Heineken Cup.

Excellent

And head coach Richard Cockerill is pleased to have secured the triple contract boost. "I'm delighted all three have signed new contracts with us," he said. "Lucas came to us just before the start of the season and has shown some great natural talent while also getting used to the professional club game here. He is a very exciting player and we look forward to seeing him develop. "Staunts has done an excellent job for us. He played a lot of rugby at the start of the season and he settled in very quickly in a key position. He has made a big contribution this season. "Joe has had to be patient this season with two experienced international hookers in the squad, but he is learning all the time and he has earned a new contract. He will continue to develop as a player here."
