Springboks skipper knows team can play better

South Africa captain Jean de Villiers is taking the positives from their draw against Argentina into next weekend's Rugby Championship fixture with Australia. The Springboks were held by the Pumas in Mendoza last weekend and they can count themselves fortunate not to have lost the game. Frans Steyn's try secured a share of the spoils, although upon reflection De Villiers believes there is plenty to take from the contest. The 31-year-old knows his team-mates are better than what they produced against Argentina, something they are seeking to show against the Wallabies.

Positives

"I think we've put that game behind us," De Villiers said of their draw with Argentina. "Immediately after the game I said I was very frustrated and very disappointed, but watching it again there's a lot of positives that came out of that game, but there's definitely things we need to work on and we're busy with that. "We believe that we're a better team than what we played like on Saturday, and we're going out to prove that hopefully next week. "We believe we're a better team and I suppose Australia believes the same."
