Munster head coach Anthony Foley has extended his contract with the Guinness PRO12 club.
Foley, who began a two-year deal in the summer of 2014, has now taken up the option of a third year, Munster Rugby and the Irish Rugby Football Union have confirmed.
Munster are also looking to appoint a director of rugby for the 2016/17 campaign, with the new role including responsibility for the professional rugby programme and elite player development pathway in the province.
"As confirmed previously, we offered Anthony the option to extend his contract as per the initial agreement in 2014 and we are pleased to see him avail of this renewal and commit to the province for a further year," Munster Rugby CEO Garrett Fitzgerald told their official website.
"The decision to seek a director of rugby was made at Munster Professional Game Board level in consultation with the IRFU, and is in line with our strategic plan for the organisation."
Munster are fifth in the table going into Friday's game against Cardiff Blues in Wales.
