Will Greenwood casts his eye over the weekend's rugby action

Will Greenwood has selected his favourite moments from an action-packed weekend of European and Sevens rugby, including Pascal Pape's dive and Charles Piutau's stunning solo try.

Defending Champions Cup holders Saracens outclassed Sale on Saturday, winning 50-3 at Allianz Park, but the Sharks' rugby league convert Josh Charnley caught Will's eye after an outrageous try-saving tackle.

One of the games of the weekend came in Belfast where Ulster edged Clermont in a nine-try thriller, and full-back Piutau produced a moment of individual brilliance to grab the Irish province's fifth five-pointer.

Down in South Africa, England produced a superb set of final-day performances to win the Cape Town Rugby Sevens, beating the Blitzbokke 19-17 in a tense final.

Back to Champions Cup matters and Dan Carter got his hair ruffled and ribs tackled by Glasgow's Italian wild boar Simone Favaro. The Warriors recorded a superb 23-14 win in Paris to boost their hopes of a quarter-final place.

Finally, Edinburgh's Phil Burleigh saw red for his slap on Stade Francais lock Pascal Pape. Will doesn't argue with the sending off but was Pape auditioning for the remake of Platoon?
