Thinus Delport told the Rugby Club how important flanker Francois Louw is to South Africa.
Louw has been in impressive form for the Springboks since his recall and has far outstripped his fetcher brief.
The Bath man - along with Willem Alberts and Duane Vermeulen - has formed a formidable back row that seems to have the balance just right.
"This new South African side are still in transition - they have lost a lot of experienced players and there are new guys settling in," said Delport on the Rugby Club.
"Initially they started slowly in the Rugby Championship and really struggled at the breakdown - especially in the first game against Argentina who brought a lot of physicality in that area.
"After that game there may have been a bit of a panic and they brought back Francois Louw who totally changed the dynamic of the team, especially at the breakdown.
"He is a bit of a hybrid but does have more of tendency to be an opensider and really controls that breakdown. The amount of ball he slows down and the amount of turnovers he has created since he has started playing has been immense.
"That has really changed the dynamic of the South African side so England definitely need an improvement in that area."
