Crabtree: Looking to put things right against Leeds Rhinos
Huddersfield forward Eorl Crabtree insists the Giants can quickly turn around one of their "worst performances" when they take on Leeds in Friday's Super League preliminary semi-final at the Galpharm Stadium.
The England prop admits he and his team-mates were devastated by their 47-0 drubbing at Warrington in their opening play-off tie, however the Giants have another opportunity to progress against West Yorkshire rivals Leeds.
The sides clash in front of the Sky Sports cameras at the Galpharm Stadium on Friday night and Crabtree, Huddersfield's longest-serving player, is determined to bounce back with a win.
"It was one of the worst performances I've been involved in," he said.
"It was as much mental as physical. It's awful playing in a game like that when you get absolutely dominated.
"Every rugby player goes out there to win. You believe that you can win and we went into that game believing it would be a close-fought contest and it just wasn't.
"Coming back in on Saturday morning it was depressing but I think all the boys have reacted well to it.
"We've watched a bit of video where we could have done better if a few things had gone our way. It's down to us now to make a difference."
Crabtree points to Catalan Dragons' 56-6 play-off rout of Hull KR, just a fortnight after losing to the same opponents in the league, as evidence to support his claim.
"Hull KR beat them, then two weeks later got absolutely battered," he said.
"Things can turn around pretty quick in rugby league."
The Giants lost 31-24 at home to Leeds in their last match of the regular season only a fortnight ago, another result Crabtree is confident of overturning.
"It went down literally down to the 80th minute," he said. "If things had gone our way, we would have come away with a victory or at least a draw.
"It wasn't to be but we can take a lot of belief out of that game. We know that we can handle them, we just need to improve our performance."
Huddersfield's squad is strengthened by the return of Leroy Cudjoe, Joe Wardle and Dale Ferguson, who are all fit to make their return from injury.
Meanwhile, Leeds have added Kyle Amor to their 19-man squad following his loan spell at Wakefield Wildcats. Coach Brian McDermott also has the option of selecting Ryan Bailey after his one-match ban was overturned.
However Carl Ablett and Kallum Watkins have not recovered in time to be included.
Giants squad: Grix, Lawrence, Cudjoe, Gilmour, Brown, Brough, Crabtree, Robinson, Griffin, Fa'alogo, Faiumu, Mason, Patrick, Horne, McGillvary, Fairbank, Wardle, Sarsfield, Ferguson.
Rhinos squad: Webb, Delaney, Hall, McGuire, Burrow, Leuluai, Buderus, Peacock, Jones-Buchanan, Sinfield, Lauitiiti, Bailey, Kirke, Hauraki, Clarkson, Pitts, Jones-Bishop, Amor, Hardaker.
