A fierce West Yorkshire derby is expected to be on offer on Sunday as the Leeds Rhinos take on the Castleford Tigers at Headingley Carnegie.

It has been a season of struggle for the champions, who won an 84-point thriller on Monday after getting the better of Wakefield 44-40 on home soil.

There was 64 points on offer in the Tigers' last outing as they surprised in-form Salford City Reds at the Probiz Colliseum with a late 34-30 triumph.

The Rhinos won 36-14 at Castleford earlier in the campaign, while Brian McDermott's men secured two big league wins over their neighbours last season.

Leeds will be without captain Jamie Peacock after he suffered a knee injury in the points-fest against the Wildcats.

The veteran is expected to return for their subsequent fixture against the London Broncos. Richard Moore has been drafted into the squad to cover his absence while Brent Webb (knee) remains sidelined.

Centre Kallum Watkins is in line to return after being out of action since suffering a knee injury in their Magic Weekend success over the Bradford Bulls.

Castleford will be looking to keep a close eye on Danny McGuire, who has scored 22 tries in 18 appearances against the Tigers.

Tigers coach Ian Millward has included forwards Steve Snitch and Paul Jackson in their 19-man squad ahead of Sunday's away clash.

Back row Snitch is in-line to return to Stobart Super League action for the first time since April 9 against St Helens.

Prop Jackson made his long-awaited return from injury against Wakefield in the Magic Weekend but missed out on selection for the home victory over Salford last time out.

Making way for the pair are Kirk Dixon, who is ruled out for the rest of the season with a back injury and Josh Griffin who has not recovered sufficiently from an Achilles injury that ruled him out of the Salford match.

Leeds Rhinos: Jones-Bishop, Watkins, Hardaker, Hall, McGuire, Jones-Buchanan, Burrow, Leuluai, Ablett, Sinfield, Delaney, Bailey, Kirke, Clarkson, Hauraki, Griffin, Moore, Ward, Lunt.

Castleford Tigers: Owen, Youngquest, Chase, Orr, Emmitt, Huby, Ferres, Walker, Snitch, Jones, Milner, Mitchell, Jackson, Millington, Holmes, Massey, McGoldrick, Thompson, Williams.
