Warriors v City Reds: Teams
At the DW Stadium, Monday August 20, kick-off 8pm
Wigan could welcome back Pat Richards for Monday night's clash with depleted Salford at the DW Stadium.
Winger Richards has not played in four months due to a knee injury but has been included in coach Shaun Wane's 19-man squad to take on the City Reds.
Ben Flower is also available for the Warriors, the forward having made his comeback in the under 20's game against the same opponents in midweek.
Stuart Fielden also played in Wigan's resounding 72-14 triumph at Orrell, the prop making a welcome return to the field after being hampered for the past 18 months by hamstring and pectoral problems.
The match will see Matty Smith come up against his former club, the half-back having joined the Cherry and Whites midway through the 2012 season from the City Reds.
City Reds struggling
Salford, meanwhile, are struggling for numbers ahead of the short journey to the current Stobart Super League leaders, who could go three points clear at the summit after Warrington's defeat to the London Broncos.
Coach Phil Veivers has lost winger Ashley Gibson for the season, while Iafeta Paleaaesina (hamstring) and Stuart Howarth are both doubtful.
Teenagers Adam Walne and Andy Morris could well be recalled from loan spells with Workington to fill the gaps.
But despite the selection problems for the visitors, Wigan coach Shaun Wane is taking nothing for granted.
"Salford can play, they are a quality team," he told Wigan's official website.
"Phil (Veivers) coaches them well, they throw the ball around and they do have some threats in the team. If you watch any Salford games they test you defensively and they troubled both London and Huddersfield recently.
"On the other side of the coin they can have some lapses defensively and that's an area we need to exploit."
Wigan squad: Carmont, Charnley, Crosby, Farrell, Finch, Flower, Goulding, Hansen, Hock, Hughes, Lauaki, Lima, McIlorum, Mossop, O'Loughlin, Richards, Smith, Thornley, S. Tomkins
Salford squad: Patten, Broughton, Veivers, Gleeson, Williams, Holdsworth, Howarth, Boyle, Anderson, Sidlow, Ashurst, Adamson, Wild, Owen, James, Neal, Walne, Nero, Fages
