Hull FC do battle with the Huddersfield Giants at KC Stadium in the Super League play-offs with the losers bowing out of the title race.
The Black and Whites secured home advantage following a sixth place finish in Super League, while the Giants ended their campaign in seventh despite a bright start.
Huddersfield beat Hull on home soil 22-4 in April with the East Yorkshire side making amends in July with a 28-24 success over Nathan Brown's team.
Paul Anderson is now in charge of the Giants following Brown's early departure, winning three of his seven matches in charge to date.
The Giants ended their campaign on a high after battering champions Leeds Rhinos 48-24 at John Smith's Stadium while Hull won both of their league games in September, including a 70-6 win at Bradford.
Hull FC have been boosted by the news of Sam Moa's return for the must-win game.
The prop forward looked like he had played his final game for the club after suffering a torn bicep in July, however, he has made a swift recovery to give him an outside chance of featuring in the finals.
His inclusion comes on the back of a return for Danny Tickle last week from a similar injury and both take their place in coach Peter Gentle's 19-man squad.
The man to make way this week is winger Will Sharp, otherwise it's an unchanged squad from the group of players that were named for the win over Castleford Tigers in Round 27.
Gentle told the Hull Daily Mail: "It is more excitement than pressure that we are feeling.
"These games bring out the best in everyone and we are really looking forward to it. I haven't applied any pressure to the boys and we have not spoken about our season ending.
"As far as we see it there are potentially four games left and we see this as just the first. I don't sense the boys getting nervous about the game, they are excited about the challenge ahead. I'm looking forward to it, I cannot wait."
A strong look squad will be at Anderson's disposal with only Tommy Lee and Lee Gilmour the only seniors to be ruled out.
"Everyone is fine, just some news regarding Tommy Lee from the Warrington game and he has a shoulder problem and his season is probably over now," he commented.
"He has been good for us, he is just unfortunate that the injury has struck at this time of the year."
Huddersfield Giants' New Zealand star David Faiumu is expecting a tough challenge in East Yorkshire.
"It will be a typical Hull game. It is always tough and they are always close games against them," he told the club's official website.
"They have strength pretty much everywhere on the park. They are always tough up front and have got some pretty quick outside backs.
"A win on Sunday would be a massive boost for us and then we can take it into the following week, keeping that momentum up. We just need to lap that up and put in a big effort."
