Stuart Fielden: set to make his Giants debut against Saints on Saturday
Nathan Brown: Saints' new head coach has a near fully-fit squad to choose from
Four-time Grand Final winners St Helens kick-off the new 2013 Super League season against the Huddersfield Giants at Langtree Park.
Saints' new head coach Nathan Brown has a near fully-fit squad to choose from with only Paul Clough unavailable to face the Giants through injury.
Brown's first game at the helm of Saints is against former club Huddersfield, with whom the Australian spent three years in charge.
"If you have got a big side that plays a certain style of footy you need those big guys to play," he said. "Huddersfield are going to be pretty formidable through that middle part of the field.
"It is the start of the year, first game at home and we want to get it off to a positive start. Huddersfield will want to get off to a good start themselves."
Huddersfield will hand debuts to Stuart Fielden and Craig Kopczak for Saturday's clash.
Fielden joined from Wigan on a two-year contract during the close season while Wales international Kopczak played for the Bradford Bulls in 2012.
Brown's replacement at Huddersfield is Paul Anderson and the former Great Britain international knows the importance of making a positive start to the season.
"This is such an important week that we can't afford to let anything distract us in what we're striving to achieve," Anderson told the Huddersfield Daily Examiner.
"It's been such a long and exhausting pre-season that we don't want all that to come to waste on our opening night."
St Helens: Wellens, Gardner, Turner, Soliola, Meli, Hohaia, Lomax, Perry, Roby, McCarthy-Scarsbrook, Puletua, Wilkin, Manu, Laffranchi, Flanagan, Jones, Gaskell, Makinson, Greenwood
