Wigan will be without six members of their World Club Challenge squad when they return to Super League action with a clash against Wakefield at the DW Stadium on Sunday.
Forward Eddy Pettybourne is suspended, while Warriors coach Shaun Wane has opted to rest Matty Bowen, Josh Charnley, Gil Dudson, Darrell Goulding and Dan Sarginson.
Wane says he wanted to give even more players the week off but several of the senior figures in his squad asked to be given the chance to produce a response following the 36-14 defeat to Sydney Roosters.
"I have made a few changes because quite a few of the senior players want to play and put a few things right," Wane said.
"They were banging on my door and they've changed my mind for me. Dan Sarginson and Darrell Goulding are not going to play - I need to have a look at Anthony Gelling and Iain Thornley - but Lockers (Sean O'Loughlin) and Micky (McIlorum) and all the front rowers will play.
"We'll give a few of the players a rest, that was always the plan. We'll put a few of the fringe players in there, that's why we've got a big squad, to deal with situations like this.
"It will be a strong team and I expect a really good performance, a lot better than the way we attacked against the Roosters.
"They're hurting, it's been really tough travelling back, because we definitely undersold ourselves in Sydney. The players are looking forward to getting back to what we do well."
Wigan are set to give a debut to 18-year-old loose forward Connor Farrell, whose brother Liam will also feature.
Anthony Gelling and Iain Thornley form a new centre pairing in the absence of Goulding and Sarginson, while Ryan Hampshire should step in at full-back for Bowen.
Wakefield, who have lost centre Dean Collis through suspension and prop Scott Anderson to injury, are set to give debuts to youngsters Luke Briscoe and Jordan Crowther, who only turned 17 last week.
Mattie Wildie and Kyle Trout are also called into coach Richard Agar's 19-man squad.
Bothe sides will be looking to pick up their first wins of the season, although Wigan have only played once so far having been given a week off due to their trip to Sydney.
Wigan squad: Bateman, Burgess, Burke, Clubb, C Farrell, Crosby, L Farrell, Flower, Gelling, Green, Hampshire, Hughes, Manfredi, McIlorum, O'Loughlin, Smith, Taylor, Thornley, L Tomkins
Wakefield squad: Mathers, Fox, Sykes, Briscoe, Lyne, Sammut, Godinet, Raleigh, McShane, Smith, Lauitiiti, Kirmond, Trout, Crowther, Ryan, Tautai, Washbrook, Walshaw, Wildie.
