Wakefield Wildcats youngsters Ben Gledhill and Cain Southernwood are in line to make their engage Super League debuts in Friday's trip to Hull KR.

Coach John Kear has included the duo in his initial 19-man squad as the Wildcats look to respond from their 52-0 mauling at home to the Huddersfield Giants last time out.

Gledhill is a 20-year-old prop who only signed a full-time contract on Tuesday, while 17-year-old Southernwood plays stand-off and also takes place kicks.

The Wildcats are still hoping to complete the loan signing of Hull KR stand-off Paul Cooke but his chances of making his Wakefield debut at Craven Park are fast receding.

A leg injury picked up by influential stand-off Ben Jeffries against the Giants has opened the door for Southernwood.

Hull KR have an injury doubt over Chaz I'Anson, who ousted Cooke from the stand-off role, for the game at Craven Park.

Coach Justin Morgan has called Frankie Mariano into his squad for the first time, as Rovers look to build on last week's impressive win over St Helens.

Ben Fisher popped up two minutes from time to score the winning try against Saints after winger Liam Colbon had grabbed a hat-trick of tries.

Ben Galea also touched down for the Robins in his first game of the season and the Australian is once again included in Morgan's 19-man squad.
