Hull KR head coach Justin Morgan will not be risking captain Mick Vella for the engage Super League visit of Castleford.

Vella has missed the last two games with a rib injury and is likely to require another fortnight on the sidelines.

Ben Cockayne serves the second of a two-match ban so Liam Colbon is set to remain in the centres with Sam Latus on the wing.

Hooker Josh Hodgson is back in the squad after being ruled out of last week's win over Bradford, while Frankie Mariano and Scott Spaven are included in the initial 19.

Castleford are without prop Paul Jackson, who could miss the rest of the season with a neck injury.

Fellow forward Liam Higgins is included in the initial squad despite struggling with a leg injury, and will face a late test along with 20-year-old centre Joe Arundel.

Teenage forwards Jonathan Walker and Oliver Holmes, both of whom have made their Tigers debut this season, are added to the squad.

"Rovers have been in good form and are always a hard team to beat at Craven Park," said Tigers coach Terry Matterson. "We thought that we had done enough to win the game here at the Jungle but lost in the late stages, so again that should be another factor for the boys to push a little harder.

"We know that we will have to play to our very best and I'd have preferred not to have one and possibly two of our front line props ruled out, but we'll be going over there to give it a real good go, and hopefully we can get back on the winning track."

Michael Shenton is poised to make his 150th appearance for the club, while Joe Westerman is coming up on his 100th.
